The Coliseum is a stage appearing in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the former game's counterpart of Arena Ferox from Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. Like with Arena Ferox, the Coliseum takes place inside the arena itself, though by default, it is a flat, grounded stage. During the match, parts of the floor rise to create platforms of varying heights. The Omega variant of Coliseum takes place on an elevated platform over a pit. Unlike Arena Ferox but like Castle Siege, the Coliseum is based not upon a specific game, but rather the Arenas appearing throughout the Fire Emblem games.
