Bud is a playable character from TearRing Saga: Utna Heroes Saga. She is a Salian thief with a boyish appearance, which causes Holmes to initially question her gender. She is also a close friend of both Narsus and Rishel. Her real name is Patricia.

Profile

During the game's events, Bud finds an amnesiac and unconscious Rishel and brings him to her home in order to care for him. Eventually, she makes a promise to stop stealing, but later breaks it to obtain medicine for him. She is introduced when Ahab takes her hostage to force Rishel to fight against Holmes' army. After she is rescued by Narsus, she convinces Rishel to defect to Holmes' army. If she is sent with Holmes after the second route split, she can find a Dragon Flute in the Alkana Desert.

In the ending, Bud travels to the Temple of Water and decides to learn how to become a "perfect" woman. It is implied that she wonders if Rishel will have interest in her if she becomes an ideal woman. If Rishel dies, Bud will accompany Narsus instead when he ditches Holmes in Granada. If neither Rishel nor Narsus survive, Bud will return to her village alone.

Subjective: The following part of this article is based upon the editor's personal experiences and opinions, and therefore may not be applicable for all readers.

Bud has to be one of the most egregious cases of being in the wrong class. Between a decent Magic base and blistering Speed, you might think that she would work as a Pegasus Knight. Unfortunately, she is a Thief, meaning her utility is confined to lockpicking. To make matters worse, she is strictly outclassed by Holmes in that role, and even Juni and Maerchen have likely done a ton of the lockpicking necessary for most of the game. Finally, Sherra comes much later and with Door Keys, trivializes the final map in the game. With all that said, it is very difficult to find room for Bud to contribute.

With all that being said, there is one specific niche she can do: she can get the statboosters in Map 25. Granted, you need to be a bit careful with aggroing the Condor Squad, but it's at least something.
