Paragon is a recurring skill in the Fire Emblem franchise that first appeared in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War.

Overview
The Paragon skill doubles the amount of Experience a unit receives in battle, allowing them to gain levels at a faster pace. Some characters innately have the skill, while accessories and items such as the Elite Ring and Paragon Manual can grant the skill to additional units.
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 has a special Elite Mode. When the game is played in this mode, all playable units will gain a hidden Paragon skill, doubling the experience gain for all of the player's units. Units that already have the skill benefit even further in this mode as the Paragon effects stack, multiplying the unit's experience gain by four times instead of two.

Paragon is a deceptively powerful skill. It allows units to reach abnormally high levels relative to the current average level in the game, which in turn allows units with the skill to more effectively kill large numbers of enemies and thus acquire even more experience. Units with this skill will almost always be useful simply by possessing it.

Trivia
- In Thracia 776, the Deadlord Canis, fought in the game's final chapter, has the Paragon skill. The skill serves no functional purpose for Canis as she is an enemy NPC as well as a Level 20 promoted unit, meaning that even if she were playable, it would not be possible for her to gain further experience.
- The skill's presence on Canis is likely a means to connect her to Sara, a player character with an innate Paragon skill who will become Canis if she is either killed prior to the final chapter, or she was not recruited.
