—Caineghis giving Ike Urvan in Rebirth 1 in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.
Urvan is an Axe that appears exclusively in the Tellius Series of Fire Emblem. This axe functions as the most powerful axe in both titles that it appears in (although it exists as unused data in Path of Radiance), with it being one of 11 SS-ranked weapons available in Radiant Dawn.
Background
Under the influence of Lehran's Medallion, Greil went on a berserk rampage that resulted in him slaughtering several citizens and only ended after Elena wrested it from his grasp at the cost of her life. Ashamed of his actions, Greil vowed to never wield a sword again. Not only did he sever the tendons in his dominant sword hand, true to his word, Greil would only perform his mercenary jobs wielding an axe from then on out by wielding Urvan.
Path of Radiance
Greil receives word from a former protege, now known as the Black Knight of Daein, who demands a duel in Chapter 7. Though Greil went to him in the middle of the night by himself, Ike had tailed him. In the middle of a clearing, Ike arrives as Greil is already dueling the Black Knight with Urvan in hand against the Black Knight wielding Ragnell. The Black Knight disarms Greil so he can toss him Ragnell to duel him as he draws Alondite. Greil refuses to take the blade and retrieves Urvan to complete the duel. Ultimately, Greil is eventually overpowered and the Black Knight deals a fatal wound onto Greil and leaves him to die as Caineghis's roar in the distance forces the Black Knight to retreat.
Greil is buried immediately in Gallia with Urvan serving as his grave marker.
Radiant Dawn
As the forces protected by Yune begin their journey to the Tower of Guidance, Caineghis and Giffca felt oddly compelled to visit Griel's grave. Upon reaching there, both are overcome with a desire to take Urvan and deliver it to Ike for the fight.
Just before entering the Tower, Caineghis gives Ike the axe which Ike takes as a sign that both his parents wanted him to have it for the most important fights of his life.

While unusable by the player, Urvan is by technicality used as it is the weapon Greil uses when he crits some poor enemy in Chapter 7. This can be discovered via cheat codes that take control of other units. Using said cheat when Greil shows up (leave it on even when he leaves) will put him in your party, where he appears on the status screen with Urvan in his inventory with 19 uses left.

Overall: Possessing the highest hit rate of any legendary weapon (tied with Rexaura) and the highest might of all axes the player can access, Urvan is a weapon you should definitely be using and should be blessed by Yune on any normal playthrough of the game. Common candidates for this weapon are Haar, Jill, Boyd, Nolan, Titania, and Ike.

Overall: Unlike many other skills, the effect of Urvan can stack with any Deflect Seal, making Brave Ike a way more tough unit. Coupled with that there's the recent refine from update 3.9, which forces the opponent starting an attack against Ike to hit twice before the reaction, with the first blow having damage reduced by 40% of it's total. Overall, the two blows with reduced damage, plus Aether and Steady Breath, makes Brave Ike a green tank as powerful as units like Brave Ephraim, Surtr and similars.
