The Swordslayer is an uncommon weapon that has appeared in some entries in the Fire Emblem series.
Overview
The Swordslayer has two different incarnations. One as a sword, and one as an axe.
In its original appearance in Mystery of the Emblem, as well as its remake, the Swordslayer is itself a sword. In these games, it is a weapon that deals effective damage against classes capable of wielding swords such as the Myrmidon, Swordmaster, Mercenary, and Hero regardless of whether or not the target unit has a sword equipped.
In The Blazing Blade and The Sacred Stones, it is an axe. In these games, in addition to dealing effective damage against sword-wielding classes, it inverts the effects of the Weapon Triangle, making it strong against swords and weak against lances. As such, the Lancereaver is able to inflict effective damage against wielders of the Swordslayer axe.
