The Base Menu feature appears in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.
Overview
In the Tellius Series, the Base Menu is an interface that the player is given access to between missions from which weapons and items may be bought or sold, unit experience and skills can be managed, the weapon forge can be accessed, Support and Base Conversations can be viewed, and information about the story and characters can be reviewed.
After leaving the Base Menu, the game moves to the pre-chapter scenario. Once the game has progressed to the Battle Preparations menu, players can choose to return to the Base Menu in case last-minute changes are desired.
The full list of options given in the Base Menu in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn is as follows:
- Items - Allows the managing and use of held items.
- Shop - Has the sub-options Armory, Shop, Sell Items, and Forge. Typically these are covered by Muston, Aimee, Jorge, and Daniel, respectively, but if the plot has them elsewhere the positions may be filled by generic knights.
- Manage - Contains options to distribute Bonus Experience and manage unit Skills.
- Support - In Path of Radiance, viewing of Support Conversations to boost unit support relationships. in Radiant Dawn, manages supports.
- Info - Allows viewing Base Conversations.
- Library - For reviewing story-pertinent relationships between characters, and other information about individual allies, enemies, nations, or terms.
- Save - For creating or overwriting save files.
- End - Leaves the menu and continues the story.
