Visit is a menu command that appears for units that have been positioned at the entrance of a village or a house that has not been previously visited.
Overview
The Visit command is used to enter a village or house, where upon the visiting unit will meet a resident and a short conversation will typically take place. The occupant may provide a hint regarding how to complete the map's objective or a secret that can be found on the map. They may also gift the visiting unit a sum of gold, a weapon, or an item. In rare circumstances, such visits may result in the recruitment of a new playable unit. In some cases, the outcome of a visit will differ depending on which unit visits the location. In most entries in the Fire Emblem series, any playable unit can visit a village, but in Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, Mystery of the Emblem and Shadow Dragon, only Marth can use the Visit command.
Villages and houses that can be visited are often targets of enemy thieves or pirates. If an enemy unit reaches the entrance to such a location before a player unit, the location will be ransacked and destroyed, preventing the player from visiting the location and obtaining the rewards it offers. If a player unit visits a village or house, the location will shut its doors afterward, preventing it from being attacked.
Trivia
- In Chapter 19 of Fire Emblem Engage, the concept of visiting homes as a "safe" action is turned on its head. In this chapter, the entire town's population has been killed and turned into Corrupted. While player units can choose to visit several houses on the map, doing so will spawn an ambush as multiple Corrupted will emerge from a visited house.
